Daniel Roemer’s unique and powerful style of directing has lead him to receive such attention as the USA Film’s Top 10 Emerging Director’s list at the age of 20, two-time Project Greenlight Best Director Finalist, and student Academy Award State finalist by age 22.
He has been characterized as a filmmaker with his finger on the pulse of the world’s youth, as his short films now have screened in over 75 countries worldwide. Partnering with Inspirational Films in Europe, colleges have packed out auditoriums with over three thousand students to screen his films, as well as standing room only theatres in major European cities.
He has a style akin to Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson and according to CDfreedom.com his film, The Select Fit is “one of the most well edited and innovative films to come out of Damah [Film Festival], writer/director Daniel Roemer is on his way to great things.”
Hanna Rosin from the Washington Post writes in a recent article that “Roemer is one of the fresh new voices that Act One [screenwriting program] faculty members talk about when Hollywood studio executives call.”
Daniel’s Short films now stream on Verizon, Sprint and Cingular cell phones worldwide, with over 16 million possible subscribers and also play in China on internet, TV, & public transportation.
He’s screened in festivals including Sundance, AFI Fest, LA Shorts Fest, and a special senator screening in Washington DC. Daniel was also among the few who finalized for the LA Shorts Fest DNA award, the festival’s top honor of a million dollar feature deal with Universal Films.
Most recently Daniel was a top 50 Director Finalist (of 10,000 entrants) for Fox's reality show "On the Lot", produced by Steven Spielberg and Mark Burnett.
Along with his narrative filmmaking experience, his credits also include a fifteen-week poker series airing on Skyy Network in Europe, and A&E reality TV show Dumpster Diving . He’s also filmed and edited for A&E E!, ET, Access Hollywood, Young Hollywood and TV news.
Daniel is currently attached to three feature films, Driven starring Seal (Grammy award winner), Gray, shooting in April in Ohio, and Treatment, a psychological thriller being produced by Christina Lee and Allison Calleri (Accelerated Entertainment).
